great value and quality for the money

I have now bought 3 of these frames now. They are excellent quality and great value for the money. I have several other frames and have tried quite a number more, but none with as good picture quality at a similar price. They also take 'hcsd' cards without a problem ,others I've tried which claim to dont really. They slow down dramatically. The functioality does all I wanted although others may want more and more on-frame storage, but I prefer to do any image manipulation and storage on my computer.
Excellent Solid performer

I bought this in hope of a top quality, easy to use LCD photo frame. Because of the low price I was worried that the sometimes quirky nature of Philips kit would let it down. If you want a basic photo frame, without bells and whistles like MP3, MP4, battery, etc this one is excellent for the money. Switch on, plug in a card and you get excellent, truly excellent, picture quality. There is a random feature, multiple card slots, on/off timer, light sensor that switches off the frame in the dark and a some internal memory of just over 100Meg. Build quality is excellent and the wood frame is very nice a nice and narrow. It looks like a picture frame!!! An excellent frame at a bargain price. I can't comment on the Philips photo software as I haven't used it, you don't need it.
Great quality photo but

Photo quality is excellent and it accepts most cards and flash drives. The the drag and drop feature for photo transfer from PC to frame via USB (included)is easy (but don't expect Philips to explain this in the instruction manual). There are great transition effects and a calendar, clock and timer. No remote or music included but I didn't want those features anyway.

Now for the annoying. There is a choice of random or sequence for picture presentation. Six pics in sequence then a random one and always starting in the same place is not random. I would have liked the ability to shuffle the photos in the PC software but that feature is not available either. If you want a semi random flow don't put your pictures on on any sort of order.

Four models are easily available and differ only slightly in their specification - I have the 8FF3CDW which is an excellent Frame and good value, the lower internal memory not being relevant assuming you're using slot-in media which is almost always the case. Go to the Philips website where you can download PDF's of their User Manuals giving every technical detail - and a good job you can because their Quick Start Guide given with the Frame is useless and very confusing. The Frame itself is reliable, well-built, and provides excellent 8" picture quality which would be no better on any other big-name Frame but setting it up beyond the basic slideshow is not straight-forward without the full Manual, especially the interaction between your PC and the Frame. That said, once set up these Frames will not disappoint and are full of useful features.
Quite happy with this frame given the mixed reviews here

I bought this for my girlfriend after researching many different frames. Given the relatively low cost, I am very happy with the quality of this frame. The images look great and it is easy to use. I really like how it turns off when the lights are turned off and it is dark (the perfect frame would also have a timer to keep it off at times when no one is home during the day). I am a bit of a technophile and am pleased with this purchase. My girlfriend is a bit of a technophobe, and she is pleased with the frame. What else can you ask for?
