What Size Screen And Display Resolution Do You Want?

As well as considering screen size you also need to decide on display resolution. It is always recommended that you get a digital photo frame that has a good resolution.

This is to ensure that you get the best quality image display for your money. If you have a low resolution display then you photos aren't going to look good and although you have bough a cheap digital photo frame the saving may not be worth it!

Image quality is paramount when looking a photos and you should be aware that although some digital frames have a larger screen size the images on the display may look bad just because of the low resolution of the display on that frame.

So make sure to check out the resolution of the screen display and go for a high resolution display if your budget will allow it. Hi-res is best when it comes to image quality!

Do You Need Internal Memory Or Just A Memory Card?

When your photos or images are being displayed on you digital frame they must be stored somewhere in the frame device.

The standard approach is to display them directly from a memory card that has the images on it and this card is must be inserted into the digital picture frame in a special memory card slot before you can see the images or play them in a slide show.

Some frames also have their own internal memory where your images can be stored. You will need to transfer the images to this internal storage from a memory card, which you can then remove, or via a USB connection or Wireless network from your computer or the internet.

Most digital frames will now come with some memory but often this is not enough to store all of the photo images that you want to display. Therefore you have a buying choice to make here and you have two options to choose from when buting a photoframe.

You can buy a digital photo frame that has lots of internal memory to store all the photos you want or you can simply buy a separate memory card that you just use with you digital frame, but make sure that it has enough storage capacity to hold all the images that you want to display.

For those of us that are not really that technical then your best bet would be to go for the easiest option and buy yourself the extra memory card.  Fortunately memory cards are really cheap right now and for just a few pounds you can get 2 gigabyte or 4 gb memory cards which will be ample to display all of your photos.

Using a memory card for digital frame image storage makes using your frame a very simple task and is worth remembering if you are going to buy a digital photo frame as a present or gift for someone!

Today many of the digital photo frames that you can buy come with speakers built in, so that you can play a music track as your photo images are displayed or as the backing music to a video or movie clip.

Basically to get these facilities you will need to check that the digital frame you are thinking of buying can play MP3 and MP4 files for music or audio and video respectively.

Being able to play music and video on your digital frame is a great innovation and one of the best deals you can get if you can afford it, because as with all things these extras will probably cost you a little more. But they are definitely worth having!

Need Wireless For Your Digital Photo Frame?

Getting a wireless digital frame, just means that you can use a wireless internet router or the WiFi network setup in your home to transfer your photos and images onto your digital frame.

All wireless photo frames are extremely useful as they allow you to transfer images on to your frame from online photo storage sites, where you have an account, such as the Flickr or Picasa and many others too.

A wireless frame can also make a great present or gift to friends and relatives. Despite the high level of technology in these wireless devices they are relatively easy to setup and you can easily configure the digital picture frame so that you are in complete control of the management of the photos that you wish to appear on your wireless digital frame.
